We found Rosie in the meat pens at Echuca sale yards where she was so hungry that her stomach was rumbling and she was nothing more than a skeleton. After being used for standard bred racing Rosie was then sent to be used as a brood mare in an embryo transfer program. When her body could take no more she was sent to the sales in this shocking state. We found her with her head dropped in the arms of a very small boy who was singing to her. We were not going to see Rosie ever be processed for meat. We brought her home where she now lives in our rescue herd.
